NGM Group announces Board changes

NGM Group’s Board of Directors has thanked outgoing Non-Executive Director Ross Griffiths for nine years of service to the organisation and its members.

Director Griffiths has decided to step down from the NGM Group and Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Boards, the latter of which he chaired.

NGM Group Chair, Wayne Russell acknowledged the valuable contribution Director Griffiths had made in his capacity as an NGM Group Director, and prior to that as a Director of Newcastle Permanent.

On behalf of the NGM Group Board, I would like to acknowledge Ross’ near decade of service to our organisation and to our members.

Since first joining the Newcastle Permanent Board in 2015, his subsequent appointment to the NGM Group Board in 2023 and most recently, in taking on his role with the Charitable Foundation, Ross has made a significant contribution, sharing his extensive experience in retail banking, governance and risk management for the betterment of our organisation. Ross was also a strong advocate for the rollout of our ESG strategy and our Reconciliation Action Plan.

I thank Ross for his service and wish him all the best for the future.”

Director Griffiths will be succeeded as Chair of the NGM Group Board Risk Committee by Non-Executive Director Rod Jackson, appointed to the Board in 2023.

Having spent more than 40 years working in banking and financial services, Rod brings so much to our Board already, and I’m delighted he will be taking on the role of Chair of this committee,” said Mr Russell.

With Mr Griffiths’ resignation, the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation will welcome two new members, Non-Executive NGM Group Directors Catherine Robson and Donna-Maree Vinci. A new Chair will be appointed in the coming weeks.
