Catherine Robson to chair new NGM Group Foundations Board

Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Chair Catherine Robson has been named as the inaugural Chair of the NGM Group Foundations Board.

The single Board will oversee the Greater Charitable Foundation (GCF) and the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation (NPCF), supporting both foundations as they continue to invest in initiatives that address disadvantage and help communities thrive.

Ms Robson will be joined by fellow NGM Group Director Donna-Maree Vinci, Newcastle Permanent’s Paul Juergens and Greater Bank’s Emma Brokate, with Natasha Beyersdorf and Jane Gray to represent the wider community on the Board. Former Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation directors Ashley Gordon and Chad Watson will be contributing in advisory roles.

The updated structure follows engagement with a selection of charitable partners and the broader philanthropic sector, finding that aligning some functions under a single board model would facilitate more opportunities to support our local communities.

Chair of the NGM Group Foundations Board, Catherine Robson, said that the foundations remain as committed as ever to partnering with organisations who are making positive change.

“The Greater and Newcastle Permanent charitable foundations have made extraordinary contributions to communities across regional NSW and south-east Queensland, improving health, education and social wellbeing outcomes to the tune of nearly $40 million since inception,” Ms Robson said.

“We are excited by the fresh opportunity for the two foundations to work together more closely, so we can have an even greater impact in regional communities.”
