Local organisations receive boost from NGM Group to rebuild from severe weather

With communities across the Mid North Coast and Hunter still feeling the impacts of the recent floods and severe weather, NGM Group and its brands, Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent has stepped in with a $50,000 donation to affected not-for-profit and grassroots organisations.

NGM Group has donated $10,000 to Awabakal Cardiff Medical Centre and Awabakal Preschool – Glendale, which suffered significant structural damage from the severe weather in May 2025.

Part of the $10,000 donation will be used to uplift the clinic's Elders Area, enhancing the safe and accessible space, while the remaining funds will be put towards painting the preschool’s internal facilities.

Through Newcastle Permanent's partnership with Northern NSW Football, $25,000 was donated to Mid Coast FC, Rainbow Warriors FC, Port United FC and Kempsey Saints FC to help rebuild their clubs after the devastating floods that hit the region earlier this year.

The clubs will use the funding injection to restore their facilities and replace supplies that were damaged or lost during the weather event, including equipment and stock required to run their canteens which are vital income streams for the not-for-profit organisations.

Through Greater Bank's partnership with Manning Valley Netball Association (MVNA), a donation of $15,000 was made to help their recovery efforts after their administration, canteen and equipment buildings submerged as a result of the May floods.

$10,000 will be put towards restoring facilities and purchasing new equipment, uniforms and canteen stock, while the remaining $5,000 has purchased replacement goal post pads.

Greater Bank have also teamed up with former professional netballer Sam Poolman to take her ASPIRE Program to Manning Valley Netball Association for a free netball clinic in the 2025 September school holidays.

Manning Valley Netball Association Treasurer Leona Newman said the donation would be vital in assisting with their recovery.

"The floods that we experienced in May completely decimated our courts, clubhouse and everything in between for a second time since 2021. It has been challenging to get our competitions back up and running," Leona said.

"We are extremely grateful to Greater Bank for their donation and their ongoing support throughout this challenging time within our community.”

NGM Group Chief Distribution Officer Paul Juergens said it was an honour to support local organisations in their time of need.

"We are proud partners of Awabakal, Northern NSW Football and Manning Valley Netball Association and we are pleased that we can support them by assisting their recovery efforts after the recent severe weather events," Paul said.

“We hope that this donation can make a positive impact on these organisations and spark some joy back into their communities, who have been through so much.”
